BACKGROUND INFORMATION FOR MICHAEL KORTZ, RFC, RR

Professional: Michael Kortz is a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) who holds a bachelors degree in Economics from the University of California at Irvine. He has been helping small businesses and individuals with their insurance, investments, and financial planning since 1999. Michael has saved his clients hundreds of thousands of dollars on their life, health, disability and long term care insurance. Not just an insurance agent, he is also a financial planner and an Investment Advisory Representative of Lincoln Financial Securities Corporation, member SIPC.

Personal: Michael grew up on the water and began racing sailboats at age 8. He became a national sailing champion, winning the Sears Cup in 1983. In college he was a member of the U.C. Irvine Sailing Team. Michael was an avid musician, signing a recording contract at age 18. He went on to record and tour extensively. His music can be heard in numerous action sports movies including the Wave Warriors series and the Crusty Demons series. He also enjoys martial arts and mixed martial arts, and has earned his Nidan (2nd degree black belt) in Shotokan karate.

Giving Back: In 2006, Michael founded the Kortz Family Foundation with the charitable intent of providing aid to those in need, such as the hungry and the elderly, and promoting causes such as juvenile diabetes research and local community education for children.
